WHO warns Pathogens
The WHO delivered the list of 30 pathogens (Microbes) that will cause the next pandemic, referring to the contagiousness and absence of Antibodies and vaccines.
The priority pathogens list on the 30 July report, were may responsible for the next pandemic in the world.
The risk of epidemic and pandemic was determined by considering available information on transmission patterns, virulence, and the availability of diagnostic tests, vaccines, and treatments.
“History teaches us that the next pandemic is a matter of when not if. It also teaches us the importance of science and political resolve in blunting its impact,” said Dr Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, WHO Director-General.
Priority Pathogens in SE Asia: Boosting Global Research through CORCs(Collaborative Open Research Consortium)
The priority pathogens in the region of Southeast Asia: Vibrio Cholera 0139, Shigella dysenteriae serotype 1, Henipavirus nipahense, Bandavirus dabieense, Orthoflavivirus denguei, Zikaense and Alpavirus Chikungunya.
The Orthohepadna virus is a prototype pathogen common in the South-East Asia region.
The report’s prioritization work involved over 200 scientists from more than 50 countries. They assessed the science and evidence related to 28 virus families and one core group of bacteria, covering 1652 pathogens.
CORCs all over the world will include researchers, developers, funders, controllers, trail experts, and others, with the intent to advance more research participation, especially from where the pathogens are known to or highly likely to circulate.
